Marcus Mastrud (they/them) is an Oregon-based full-time art student scuttling around Portland for the last ten years. While Marcus is studying and practicing printmaking, they are exploring the meaning of multiplicity for their work. Marcus often makes works using subjects from nature to connect with community and explore their identity.
While drawing and printmaking are Marcus’ primary focus, they also dabble in mixed media, collage, and bookmaking, with an emphasis on re-purposing found materials. They are an active student at Pacific Northwest College of Art and anticipate graduating in Spring 2025.
Outside of visual art making, Marcus enjoys making and watching YouTube videos, collecting and caring for a variety of exotic critters (bugs, spiders, lizards, oh my!), and vibing with their elderly beagle-mix and fur-child, Mary. Marcus is a gay transsexual living in a larger body with chronic pain and mental illness.
